Key Stage 3 Design & Technology

DT WorkshopThe Faculty of Design, Technology and Creative Arts at key stage 3 integrates Food, Resistant Materials, Graphic Products, and Product Design into a broad creative, artistic and technological curriculum that is delivered in specialist classrooms/workshops. The specialist staff adopt a student centred approach to the advancement and delivery of learning materials that enable students to develop and apply transferable skills such as listening, communication, evaluation, organisation and practical skills through the use of group work and individual learning opportunities. The courses are designed to encourage achievement, reciprocal learning, economic wellbeing and making a positive contribution with students’ progress being closely monitored to ensure progression and continuity for each individual. Out of lesson support is offered to all students be it at break, lunch or after school, by teaching staff and a small dedicated team of technicians.
